Meet NVSR at An Upcoming Event

Throughout the year, NVSR volunteers and our Shelties attend a few community events and festivals around Virginia to help support our rescue efforts and raise awareness for Shelties in need. You may find us at places like the Virginia Scottish Games in The Plains, the Scottish Walk in Alexandria, Creatures Great and Small in Scottsville, and more. Whether you’re curious about adoption, interested in volunteering, or just want to say hello and show off your Sheltie and meet some of ours, we’d love to see you.

Saturday, September 19, 2026 Join Us at the 2026 NVSR Picnic- And Bring Your Sheltie

 



Our picnic for adopters, volunteers, and friends is coming up on Saturday, September 19, 2026 . Our dogs, volunteers, and visitors come together to make new friends, play games, get doggie massages, eat all kinds of yummies, and get a first chance to buy our next year’s Sheltie calendar. Where? Curtis Memorial Park (just west of Fredericksburg) Address: 58 Jesse Curtis Ln, Hartwood, VA 22406. Plan to arrive about 11:00 and stay until 3:00.
RSVP is not required but always helpful for the lunch count! You can tell us you're coming here.
The beautiful 2027 NVSR Calendars...
 are ready to go to the printer. This year's calendar is full of photos from our friends and volunteers. Each photo contains at least one rescued Sheltie. Calendars will be available to purchase/pick up at the picnic on September 19th. All pre-orders will be shipped at the end of September. Reserve yours today!
Each calendar is $22, shipping included. To order, email us at shop@nvsr.org and include your mailing address. We will give you payment options in our reply.

Remembering Our Shelties
